My journey into the world of millinery began in 1998, amidst the vibrant ambiance of Louisville, Kentucky.  As a regular attendee of the Kentucky Derby, the desire for a stunning hat for this grand event sparked the inception of our love affair with millinery. Louisville, the epicenter of American horse racing, is home to the iconic Churchill Downs, where the legendary Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks take place every year on the first Saturday in May.

As a fervent attendee of the Kentucky Derby, I yearned for a spectacular hat to complement the grandeur of the event, igniting a lifelong passion for millinery. Despite being born in America, my English heritage beckoned me back to the UK in 2001. It was here that I founded Hats by Cressida, pouring my heart and soul into crafting exquisite headpieces for women worldwide.
